A Message from Superintendent Patrick Andrew  June 16, 2020

Thank you all so much for your cooperation, understanding, patience and hard work during this difficult experience of remote instruction. It has certainly been a challenge but the extraordinary kindness shown by so many has made the journey easier. As we look to the fall 2020 opening of school there are still many unanswered questions. We currently have nine sub committees working on protocols for returning to school in September.

As soon as there are firm plans for how school will resume in September, I will share those plans with faculty, staff, students and parents. At present, we are awaiting guidance from the Governor's task force on reopening schools, which will make its recommendations in mid July. From those guidelines we will develop a plan that makes sense for Moultonborough Schools and will share the details of the plan with faculty, staff, students, parents and community members.

I know we are all anxious to know what the fall will look like for schools but we simply do not have enough data to make final decision at this time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we plan for a successful 2020-2021 school year.

Best wishes for a safe and restful summer.

Message from Superintendent Patrick Andrew, June 9, 2020

Dear Moultonborough community Members,

The recent killing of George Floyd, the ensuing widespread riots and protests may leave children with many questions and emotions.  These issues can be difficult to discuss with children in an age appropriate manner. The Moultonborough School  and Community Charter has five pillars: Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Compassion and Moral Courage.  I want to make clear, both personally and on behalf of Moultonborough Schools, that we will do all we can as a school system to uphold these ideals. We will address them directly in our educational programs, and in our engagement with students and families, working for a world that is equitable and kind; where people do not have to fear for their lives because of the color of their skin; and where everyone has the same opportunities to grow, thrive and enjoy their lives. Here is a link to our website where school staff will be posting educational resources over the next couple of days that may help you in discussing these issues with your child.

Meals Pickup Program will be available through June 30, 2020.

Meals picked up on Thursday will now include meals for Thursday, Friday and SATURDAY.

As we continue our efforts to support our students and our community through these trying times, we would like to take the opportunity to remind you that applications for meal benefit assistance (free & reduced priced school meals)
are accepted throughout the year, and that our office continues to accept and process new applications.

If you have experienced a layoff, loss of employment or even simply a reduction in hours due to the COVID-19 crisis, you may now qualify for meal benefit assistance from USDA.

More information on how to apply for meal benefit assistance can be found on the Distance Learning page on School Meals or by clicking here for English and here for Spanish.

Moultonborough School District is providing free bagged meals (breakfasts and lunches) for a three and two day time period. Meals are available for pick up Mondays and Thursdays between the hours of 8-11 at the Academy back kitchen doors. Please email by 7 PM Sunday (for Monday pickup) & Wednesday (for Thursday pick up). Include in the email with the child’s name and if we need to be aware of any allergies. Please feel free to ask any questions thru this email also and we will do our best to get you answers.

End of School IPad Collection:

Due to distance learning and recommendations from the Department of Education, we will only collect iPads from the following two groups of students. Everyone returning to the Moultonborough School District in September should examine their device for damage, cracks, or other issues, and notify the Tech Department if they find anything. Otherwise, they can keep their devices over the summer.

From: Jonathan W. Tolman, School Board Chair

Good afternoon all,

We are in unprecedented times and certainly unchartered waters. As you all know by now, the Governor has closed all public schools throughout the state and mandated that we go to “Distance Learning”.  Superintendent Andrew has been on top of the situation even before this was official, working with our excellent administration and staff to prepare a plan for this new experience.  He is in almost daily contact with me and your School Board has been getting updates as the situation unfolds. I cannot say enough how proud the School Board is of Mr. Andrew, our administration and every employee of the district who are stepping up to the plate in these stressful times to provide as much support as they can to our students!

Welcome to our School District website.

We hope that as you visit our site, you will get a snapshot of all that goes on in our District and in our schools: Moultonborough Central School and Moultonborough Academy. Our purpose here is to share the multiple facets of education within the District—academically, athletically, artistically, and socially.

Moultonborough School District grew from a kindergarten through 6th grade system to a K-12 SAU in 1980. For the past 38 years, our community has provided Moultonborough students with a comprehensive education including college prep and/or career ready academics, technology school opportunities, art, music, physical education, foreign languages, a variety of electives, co-curricular activities, and sports teams for every season.

Moultonborough is a community that values education and its local public schools. It is a community that desires the best for all students and has high expectations for those who serve the community's children.

Please be aware that the district buildings are closed to visitors, except for meal pickups from food service and for  picking up learning supplies and food/toiletries available in the Academy foyer on Mondays.
If you need to access any of the buildings or personnel, please call for an appointment. We will be practicing CDC recommendations for social distancing during these interactions, including the wearing of masks
Thank you.

Congrats to Class of 2020
