One District, One Community, One School System

Moultonborough is a community that values education and its local public schools. It is a community that desires the best for all students and has high expectations for those who serve the community's children. Through this website learn more about the multiple facets of education within the District—academically, athletically, artistically, and socially.

Moultonborough School District provides preK - 12th grade education to residents of Moultonborough. It grew from a kindergarten through 6th grade system to a K-12 SAU in 1980. In 2018 the district created a middle level (Grades 5-8).  The district is comprised of 2 buildings and 3 schools. Our community continues to provide Moultonborough students with a comprehensive education, including college prep and/or career ready academics, technology school opportunities, art, music, physical education, world languages, a variety of electives, co-curricular activities, and sports teams for every season.

Homeschooled children, siblings not yet enrolled in school, and any child that

MSD SCHOOL REOPENING PLAN FALL 2021

The first day of school for Moultonborough students is Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Moultonborough Schools plan to open on time and remain open for in-person instruction as long as we can safely keep schools open. We do not plan to offer remote learning at this time. We have a plan in place to increase layers of mitigation when community transmission rates for COVID-19 go up and reduce layers of mitigation when transmission rates go down.

We will not be requiring masks indoors when community transmission rates are low or moderate and we will be requiring masks indoors when community transmission rates are substantial or severe. We are required by the CDC to have all bus riders wear a mask while on the bus regardless of community transmission rate.

Unfortunately, transmission rates for all areas of the state are currently severe. If this does not change for the better in the next couple of weeks we will be returning to school with masks required for everyone indoors until community transmission rates decline.

While it is disappointing to start another school year with COVID-19 challenges, we have an excellent record of keeping school open last year.
A copy of our current reopening plan can be found  here.  This plan can and may change as the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services guidance to school changes.

A letter to families asking for your help in screening students daily and what to do if your child does have symptoms of COVID-19 can be found here.

COVID-19 PROTOCOL UPDATE

SEPT 6 - 10, 2021
From Patrick Andrew, Supt. of Schools

Greetings Moultonborough School Community Members,

We are excited to be back in school starting tomorrow, September 7th.  We hope you have had a great summer and we look forward to welcoming many new students into our school for the 2021-2022 school year.  We are using information from the NH DHHS to guide the mitigation strategies used to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in schools. The NH schools dashboard can be be found at:

https://www.covid19.nh.gov/dashboard

Currently transmission rates are high in our area and this calls for the use of masks on buses and while indoors.  We will be taking outdoor mask breaks throughout the day and holding many classes and activities outside.  We hope to continue to keep schools open without any in-school transmission of COVID, as we did last year.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we start the new school year.  We are looking at the experience of other schools nationally and in NH as the school year starts and we may make adjustments to our opening plan as we get more information from other schools.

School Bus schedules are available at our school website:

http://www.sau45.org/district/bus_schedules

We look forward to the start of a great year at Moultonborough Schools.
